Wire – a lamp that is illuminated even when turned off

The lamp "Wire" was named after the stainless steel wire mesh which is the light diffuser, creating a light circumference under the blind – a kind of halo that together with the light bulb gives another dimension. It gives a dim and soft light.

The lamp is a "reflection" to industrial lighting and with its simplicity in form it will fit into any space, modern interior, above every work table and in a homely atmosphere above the dining table.

The lamp is handcrafted by metal workers where every blind is produced slowly and in particular, by hand and with a lot of attention and effort each metal sheet is bended millimetre by millimetre. Unfortunately there are less and less master craftsmen who work in this century-old craft that is replaced by heavy automatic presses and automatic production. Light4dark prefers to use handcrafted products.

This can be seen especially on models made of copper, bended according to the model and later polished to high gloss.

The final processing after the manual polishing of each piece for durability is consigned to modern technology – plasticized powder that in the end is burned at 180 degrees Celsius. We have decided to produce in basic “colours”, white and black structure: light4dark. On the other hand we wanted to leave you the natural colour of metal, aluminium and copper.

Don’t forget, Wire is designed to be used with LED lightbulbs and Light4dark strongly advocates the use of LED lighting wherever possible because it lasts much longer and technologically it has achieved the colour of light we are used to, the light of filaments.
